Sino si Badong?

Who is Badong? That is a good question.

Alfred. Badong. Dodong. Ulo. Mahal. Babe. Tito. Kuya. He goes by many names, and also puts on many masks.  Is there one person who can claim that they know him inside and out? Can I? Can his mom, or his best friends?

Sometimes I think I can lay claim to that. I usually know when he’s lying, or when something’s on his mind.  I normally know what he wants to happen, and I can predict his next moves.  I can call his bluffs too, which annoys him to bits.

So who is he really? From where I stand, I’d say his family is most important to him – so don’t believe him when he says otherwise. Like so many others his age, he is desperate for their approval, and that’s probably why he puts up a front that he couldn’t care less what they thought.  

He is very persistent though. Once he sets his mind on a certain goal, and he’s convinced that he wants it badly – he’ll do what he can to achieve it.  I think this is what made him a good call boy, er, tech support agent. He knew what his goals were, he knew what he needed to get bonuses, and he was able to work towards those goals consistently.  But if you put him in a more lax environment, say a freelance spot, I’m not so sure he’d be as much as an achiever. I could be wrong.

He doesn’t know what he wants, half the time. So he’s very easy to persuade. Truly a child of his time – commercials can totally convince him. Haha
