This week I started a daily exercise routine. Even through the hottest day this summer, I was out there working out on the nautilus and alternating it with biking. Yes my body became sore right after that first afternoon, but it’s okay. It’s the price I have to pay. Haha.

Apart from working out, I’ve also started cutting down on rice. How many days didn’t I have rice meal for lunch at work? Ayos.

I’ve noticed that since I starting exercising, I haven’t got up in the middle of the night. My snoring doesn’t seem to be as bad as before.

Tomorrow, I’ll go on a solo photo walk along Roxas Blvd.

I don’t know why, but when I hear about showbiz chismis, I get affected. Kung maka-react ako parang I care. Gaya ng sobrang kapayatan ni Kim Chiu. I saw her on ASAP last Sunday and all I could think of was how skinny she was. ABSCBN should really consider fattening her up. Gawing mandatory na magkalaman sya bago magkaron ng bagong project. Vera likes her, pero ibang level talaga ang kapayatan nung batang nun.

Tapos nung Lunes, I read a blog by one of my idols. Ayoko sabihin ang pangalan nya. Apektado na naman ako, kasi hindi ko nagustuhan ang tono ng sulat nya. Pakiramdam ko he was being too self-righteous.

Kunsabagay, it’s his blog and he’s free to write about whatever he wants. He’s entitled to his own opinion. Pero parang may mali pa rin. Nabanggit ko ito kay Vera, kaso nakita nya ko nung hapon din na yun na pinapanood sa YouTube ang idol ko. Sabi ko: I’m just hoping it wasn’t really him who wrote that blog.

Badodong.Com is one year old! The anniversary went by without me noticing it. I guess Vera was too busy to think of a gimik. But that’s just as well. Okay lang, dahil kahit isang taon na ang blog, parang hindi rin naman dala ng katipiran magpost.

Nakalipas na ang Pasko at Bagong Taon pero ngayon palang ako babati ng Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I hope that everyone had a great time with family and friends.

Vera and I also celebrated our 10th anniversary on the 19th. On the Sunday before that, we spent the day at Enchanted Kingdom. It was our first time to visit the amusement park which has now been around for 13 years. Kaya lang hindi kami sumakay sa Space Shuttle. Next time.

Ilang araw na lang, Pebrero na. Malapit na uli ang June. Nabawasan na ba ang listahan na ginawa ko last year when I turned 30?

Tsk. Wala pa kong pwedeng i-cross out sa listahan. I’m running out of time!

Ahh. The Christmas Party. I got soooo drunk. A lot of us did. It was a costume party held at quite an interesting venue (I never would have thought of it as a Party venue, let alone one for Christmas), and anyone not in pirate-themed attire was refused entry.

Nag-paparazzi mode ako sa party, share ko ang ilang pics sa susunod.

Dahil malapit na ang pasko, marami din tayong mga iniisip na mga regalo at kung paano makakatulong sa mga kapos-palad. Ako, nag-donate ako sa Red Cross through salary deduction. In return, the company gave me a free pass to wear casual clothes at work for the entire month. Si Vera, marami pang iniisip na ways para makatulong, syempre damay na rin ako dun.

Tip: kung may Taxi Bay, have patience and lineup. It will do you good to exhibit some discipline. And you will also find that you’ll get a cab faster than if you compete with everyone else who thought they were better off not falling in line.

Pero minsan, parang maraming taxi and in fact they come one right after the other. But when it’s finally our turn, nawawala sila.

Tapos, kahit na eto’t nakikita ng iba na maayos ang pila, meron pa rin matitigas ang ulo na gusto pang sumingit. They actually go way ahead of the line, where the taxis enter tapos dun sila papara. Buti hinarang sila ng guard.

On Mondays, vehicles with plate numbers ending with1 or 2 are not allowed to traverse the roads of the Metro. On succeeding days, it would be vehicles with plates ending with the other numbers.  There are only a few exceptions to this plan. On holidays, the scheme is usually suspended. Otherwise, those with special LTO/Police/Military clearance can get a free pass. Another exception would be doctors on-call.

Since the number coding scheme was implemented more than a decade ago, doctors started using signs or bumper stickers on their cars saying just that: Doctor On Call. They need just point to the sign, and the friendly neighborhood MMDA would let them through.  I think that in the beginning, the traffic enforcers may have actually stopped them and asked for credentials, but now? I doubt it.

The other day, habang nagaabang ng taxi sa may MRT Quezon Avenue, I saw three cars flagged down by the MMDA. None of them stopped. Instead, they just pointed to their Doctor on Call signs.

How are we to know that they really were doctors? Or that they were really in a hurry to see to an emergency?

Ang dali lang naman bumili ng sticker or sign sa bookstore or sa mall. Those stickers/signs aren’t just available for doctors. Anyone can buy them.

So nakakapagtaka ba na trapik pa rin sa Metro Manila?

A few posts down, I talked about what I called leechers that abound at the BK branch at E. Rodriguez. Now, there’s also a variety of them at Cinnabon at The Podium. These are people who take advantage of the free Wifi services and personnel who don’t care if you occupy too much space even when you’ve obviously finished with whatever it was you ordered.

Okay, sorry to the dude in this photo, I tried my best to blur him out and just focus on the chair. He does seem nice and all, but does he have to occupy so much space? When the girlfriend and I arrived, there was hardly a free table. On one table there were two kids with their coloring books. On another, there was a woman on her laptop. On the one next two ours, there was one guy with two laptops. Then this guy was with someone else and they had this laptop plus other stuff (at least one box of cellphone included).

Cinnabon’s space isn’t too big, in fact it really small. But it hardly gives the feeling of being cozy because it was overpopulated. But that’s just my opinion.

I really have nothing against those who prefer to work in cafes and restaurants, after all, they offer up free wifi everywhere. But I would feel awkward seeing newly arrived customers (paying ones) who have no more seats or tables while I’m already done with whatever it was I ordered.

If downstairs they seemed to be individuals or small groups but with a lot of laptops in the landscape, at the second floor they were in groups. There were about three empty tables (small ones, good for two people) left. I tried taking a picture discreetly, so pardon the blur:

Seems that these are students, working on papers and stuff. Monday was a non-working holiday which also meant no school. I guess they took advantage of the free day to go to BK and study? Bleh.

It was just annoying, and I don’t understand why BK management let’s this happen. Most of the tables don’t have any food anymore. Aren’t they losing money over this?

On another note, Vera signed up our blogs with LinkFromBlog which is another channel that maybe worthy to explore for earning through this sideline. I don’t think we’ve earned anything through my blog, but hopefully this new channel will give me better luck. It’s worth at least checking out, and who knows it might yield you good results too. Last week, I passed on the opportunity to apply for a Team Lead post because I didn’t feel like that position was for me. I don’t think I’m ready, and I’m not sure it’s something I can actually do. The post that’s up for grabs now, well, looks like something I can be good at. We’ll see.

Because of the scratches, I thought about having it masked or recolored or something like that.  I found out earlier on that there were no available replacement housing for this unit so having it masked or have some blown art done on it was the way to go.

I never got around to having that done.

This PDA phone came with a stylus (that I lost) so what I did was treat it like it was an iPhone. Yes, I used my thumb and index finger to navigate through the menus and even to tap out my messages. I had a touch screen phone! Haha.

On Friday afternoon, Vera excitedly told me about a phone she had seen at work.  The Motorola Rokr E8.  Apparently it was being marked down and for the features it carried, it was a steal. We agreed to go hunting for it on Saturday.  Timing! One of the buttons on my phone had actually fallen out, the Home button I think it was.

After lunch on Saturday, we headed out to Greenhills. After walking around and haggling with several  stall owners, we finally found one who sold us the Rokr’s at the price very near to what we wanted.  We got three. One for me, one for Vera, and one for her Kuya Bads.  We also bought pouches: black for me, red for her, and gray for him.

The phone goes all black when it’s locked.  And the keypad control changes depending on the phone mode as you see in the above photo.  It has 2g internal memory, and will hold up to 6 or 8g more of external memory via micro SD card.  It also has a 2MP camera.

So this isn’t a new model, but so what? It’s awesome!
